28 Nov Top 3 Costs for a Wedding Budget – And How to Save
Your wedding budget is an essential part of planning your big day. Your budget should influence all of your decisions – venue selection, guest list, entertainment, food and beverages, etc.
No matter what your starting budget is, think of it in terms as “for us” and “for them.” Most of your budget is going to be spent on your guests – actually 40% of it will be used for venue rental, food, and drinks.
Here’s a good “cheat sheet” you can use to break down your wedding budget!
2023 WEDDING BUDGET ALLOCATION –
Venue & Catering – 40%
Photography & Videography – 15%
Music & Entertainment – 10%
Flowers – 10%
Decor – 10%
Wedding Dress & Attire – 5%
Transportation – 3%
Stationery – 3%
Favors – 2%
Cake – 2%
A good tip to save? Cut down on your guest list, decide what your non-negotiables are, find substitutes for what is negotiable!
Another tip? Book a venue that offers all 3 of your biggest costs. There are plenty of venues that offer location, catering, and bar service. These venues are usually able to work with your budget and give you options that both you and your guests can appreciate! Flexibility and customization will be your best friends if you’re working with a budget that doesn’t have much wiggle room!
And guess what?! The Glass Room is one of these fantastic venues 😉 Not only is our space beautiful, with plenty of lighting and room for dancing – we offer catering through Buck & Johnny’s (hello deliciousness!) and a full bar with servers and bartenders! Not to mention – we already know how to throw some pretty sweet parties if we do say so ourselves!
